Nachgegraben, 2016, Inkjet print, 24 x 16 cm

A follow up to Gras-drüber-wachsen-lassen, this work documents the gravel outside the museum Topographie das Terrors.
The Nachgegraben movement emerged in the 1980s, focusing on uncovering historical sites tied to the Nazi regime and confronting their legacies. As part of this movement, the remnants of the Gestapo cellars were excavated and revealed. After the excavation, sections of the cellars were partially re-covered with gravel to protect the site while maintaining areas visible to the public.
