Either I forget right away, or I never forget is a small digital world shifting between private and public, real and fictional, imagined and dreamt; an exhibition within an exhibition.
It was a first step in exploring world-building using models created using Polycam, a LiDAR 3D scanning app, and gathers together elements from various of my interests such as the artist as the hero of his own narrative, the weight of expectation, and claiming space for one’s self, mixed with tropes found in video game language.
Includes Mt. Lover (2021), Forest (2021), Ela Mips (2021), CryptoKitties (2021), and Timelapse Flower (Anemone Coronaria) (2019), amongst others.
A low-poly version was created for φαινόμενα and hosted on Mozilla Hubs, a browser-based WebXR docial platform launched in 2018 that let users meet in private, virtual 3D worlds without any app installation. Mozilla Hubs was discontinued on May 31, 2024, and that version of the world was lost forever.
