I had a mental breakdown during the first COVID lockdown and decided to finally go for a walk in my neighborhood. I took a picture of my neighbor’s rose bush in full bloom. I believe the neighbors passed away sometime in late 2023, and it went through a rough patch in 2025 when their grandchildren moved in. I don’t think they care about them as much. The roses bloomed again in 2026, either way. Nature takes its course. I’ll continue photographing it every year, for as long as I can. Shot on 35mm.
