Untitled (Perfect Lovers), 2015, Inkjet print on photographic paper, 28 x 21 cm
In 2015, I was fresh out of uni and had come back to Cyprus "for a while until I get some money to go back to London". I ended up getting a job as a graphic designer at the marketing department of some fire extinguisher company while making my first steps as an artist. I made some good friends during my time there. One day, I was chatting with Eleonora in her office, and noticed the shadow of the two flowers on her desk touching on the whiteboard behind. I traced their shadows. Later on in the day, the shadows had grown apart, and I took this photo. The title is a reference to one of my favourite works of all time – Felix Gonzalez-Torres' Untitled (Perfect Lovers) – two synced clocks placed next to each other, that desynchronise as time goes by. I should call my office friends to hang out.
